Once standing as a revered stately home with impressive landscaped gardens, Wanstead House and it's sprawling grounds covered much of what is now Wanstead Park. Amongst the gallery of the property's first-floor 'parade rooms' stood a grand library, the designs of which inspired several British stately homes built in the 1730s.
